Fresh Turkish Delight

I used to dislike turkish delight, before I tried the real stuff (fresh, not from a box) a few years ago.  I haven’t had any for ages, but walking past a huge block of fresh turkish delight being cut up, I had to sample some…wow – so good!

Very glutinous and sticky-sweet.  Extremely fresh – it would have been made that morning, it was still warm.  Full of sugar but terribly moreish.  A measly $5 bought us a big rectangular slab of it cut up into fat powdery cubes.  Delicious, it won’t last out today in this house!  James had a piece and loved it.  Here’s a cube of it – out of focus but you get the idea.  As James would say, yummo!  🙂
